about

Differing from Polygrains' previous work, “Screen Fever” strips away vocals to give his sound a grittier turn.

Even if the record was not made on the computer, Moschas reportedly was spending a lot of time on it in between work "as a break, or out of habit, checking facebook, twitter, even unconsciously", which exactly manifests one of the most prevalent contemporary conditions, from which the record takes its title.

“Screen Fever” is the addiction to the screen, whether that is a television, a computer or a smartphone. The spectator is absorbed into this screen, partly dematerialised, partly zombified, always half present in the world, forever on standby, constantly alert to the next notification. But at the end, there's nothing but memories of flickering and flashes of manic scrolling upwards and downwards, indistinct grainy pixels.

All these pixels and noise become a sonic and visual disruption/intervention audible in “Screen Fever”. Sometimes pleasant and smooth, sometimes dark and disturbing, occasional disruptions, comings and goings. All these phenomenally disparate elements comprise the sound of “Screen Fever”.
