about

Pleasure Coma

Pleasure as the guiding force of survival. Life as an instinctual seeking of pleasure. Pleasure as the compulsion to repeat, repetition as a means for security, a way to shut the back door to chaos, inducing reassurance and ultimate comfort.

The album is formally based on repetitive patterns, 4/4 rhythms, kick and snare, almost all songs around 116-120 BPM, double the heartbeat, evoking a sense of arousal and excitement, a pleasure coma.

A trance-like state, a continual activity, a non-disrupted line, which keeps the jogger running, the dancer moving, the shopper loading their trolley in a state of frenzy, gradually transforming one into an automaton, pursuing an eternal sustenance of a hedonistic static movement as an end in itself.

However, by blending the digital into the analogue and the organic, and through minute changes offered by instantaneous spasms of sonic interference, it creates an illusion of a craving escapade.

Pleasure Coma stages an endless and ineluctable quest, a soporific stamping, perpetually circumventing its demise by hopelessly trying to fly beyond its own enclave.
